Low Voltage Cable Technician Job Description:

  • Pulling and routing CAT5 or CAT 6 cable in a data center or new construction commercial environment
  • Terminating phone jacks
  • Dressing and terminating distribution frames (66 or 110 blocks, patch panels)
  • Testing cable/troubleshooting networking issues
  • Installing support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks)

Low Voltage Cable Technician Job Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience working on commercial projects
  • Low Voltage electrical skills and knowledge
  • 1+ years of commercial low voltage experience
  • At least 3+ years of experience installing voice and data systems in a commercial environment.
  • Ownership of basic telecom tools: Punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, Hard Hat, Boots, Safety Glasses, etc.
  • Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards a plus
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and provide two professional references.
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
  • Must adhere to OSHA safety standards
  • Must be able to see colors/knowledge of color codes
